Come From Away is a musical based on the true story of a small town in Newfoundland that welcomed nearly 7,000 stranded passengers after their flights were diverted on September 11, 2001. The synopsis highlights the unexpected camaraderie and generosity that bloomed between the “come from aways” and the residents of Gander, Canada, in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. The show, created from interviews with the people involved, tells the story of this extraordinary time and how both groups were changed by the experience.
